The Horsefly Winter Carnival is beginning to take on a life of its own.

The Williams Lake Library’s Armchair Travel program begins this Thursday evening, Jan. 20 with a presentation by Darryl Grams on Bolivia.

Another highlight was a visit to a Sudanese village where the elderly women make beautiful bowls and hot pads from reeds. The village was very near the equator at an altitude of more than 5,700 feet above sea level.

The Williams Lake Library continues its CBC documentary film series tomorrow, Jan. 19 with the film Racing Thoughts.

Cariboo Growers Cooperative and partners will host a Medieval dinner theatre and silent auction fundraiser at Beeotcheese Bistro and Bakery on Thursday Feb. 3, starting at 5:30 p.m.

For Dr. Allan Dickens, his family and his brother Stephen with daughter Chelsea, a chance to go to Kenya in November, 2010 was more than a chance to dodge the cold or see many exotic animals.
