Several Shogun Martial Arts Academy students attended the World Karate and Kickboxing Council’s National Karate Championships over the May long weekend in Ottawa. Grade 12 Williams Lake Secondary School Evan Rankin has received the Rory Wickes Bursary Award.

The BC High School Rodeo Finals in Williams Lake and the grand-entry ceremony of the second rodeo performance paid homage to graduates and their achievements by way of individual introductions and a mini-bio on each student as they stood (horseback) in the arena.

The entertainment and rodeo lineup is set and the office is now open for tickets to the 85th annual Williams Lake Stampede.

For the first time in its more than 40-year history as a high school sport in British Columbia; the B.C. High School Rodeo year-end Finals were held in Williams Lake and the top 24 qualifiers (12- North, 12-South) began rolling into town as early as Thursday afternoon.
