Williams Lake’s Lucas Pinette took home a bronze at the Jr. Masters Water Ski Tournament in Pine Mountain, Georgia in the United States last week.

Lucas competed in the Jr. Men’s Jump event jumping 48.9 metres in the semi-finals to land him in the finals.

In the finals, he bettered his distance with a jump of 51.9 metres, earning him third place for Junior Men’s Jump.

He scored 6,220 points total, also earning some points in the Jr. Men’s Trick event earlier the same day.

Unable to compete in the U17 World Championships in Santiago, Chile due to an injury, this result indicates he is back in the game.

While qualifying for the competition, Lucas already managed personal bests in slalom, trick and jump categories.

Water skiers come from all over the world to compete in the Junior Masters at Callaway Gardens, which takes place on Memorial Day weekend every year on the man-made lake built for this purpose.
