Williams Lake went undefeated in six games to win the Quesnel Mixed Indoor Soccer Tournament held at their indoor turf facility this past weekend.

The tourney featured seven teams including four from Quesnel and lone entries from 100 Mile House, Prince George and Williams Lake.

The tournament was a straight round-robin format with all teams playing the other six teams. Both the lakecity side and Quesnel’s Page’s Posse entered their final round-robin game Sunday afternoon with four wins and a draw in essentially what was the tournament final.

The first half ended scoreless but Williams Lake popped four goals from Mikel Brogan, Sean Glanville, Mike Holm and Chelann Davis on route to a 4-2 victory and the tournament championship.

Williams Lake faced plenty of adversity early on trailing 3-0 at half time in their opening game Saturday morning to Forest Power Sports of Prince George but were able to rally in the second half to earn a hard fought 3-3 draw.

In their other games Williams Lake defeated Breezy Britches, Young Blood and the Under 18 Rep side from Quesnel and 100 Mile House and earned $600 cash for winning the event.

Other members of the winning side included Kolby Taylor, Luke Moger, Rajan Mangat, Leah Watt, Cora Kelly, Matt Isenor, Becky Grosso, and Ashley Callander.
