Some Williams Lake mountain bikers made their ways to Silver Star for some BC Cup DH mountain bike racing July 8 through 10.
In U15 sport, Evan McMath placed 9th and Kache Passeri placed 26th, out of 54 competitors.
In U17 sport, Caleb Engle placed 34th and Tobias Baumann placed 46th out of 66 in the category. Rhys Vath did not race due to an injury in Saturday’s practice.
Grady Watson also competed in his first race at the event and Brandon Douglas and Wilson Thompson competed in the UCI pro/Elite men’s division. Wilson Thompson took third in seeding on Saturday and came in 14th out of 27 in the race. Douglas managed 26 out of 27 despite a crash.
BC Cup series continues on with races at Fernie July 15-17 and Panorama July 18-20.
Young racers from Williams Lake plan to be at both events as they build their racing experience.
