Shogun Martial Arts members competed in the Shuswap Open on May 27 in Salmon Arm.

“All Shogun competitors gave it their all and made us proud as always,” said Lee-Ann Lainchbury of Shogun Martial Arts. She said some came away with personal bests and some with great learning experiences.

“No matter the outcome they were all good sports.”

Emmy Shortreed had to face off against all boys and all higher belts than her, as she didn’t have anyone in her division.

“She was not deterred and gave them a run for their money,” said Lainchbury.
