The Lake City Falcons junior girls (Grade 8) volleyball team wrapped up its season Monday with home games against Quesnel junior secondary.

“The girls had a terrific season,” said coach Tim Hurley.

The Falcons travelled twice to Quesnel and once to 100 Mile House, along with hosting both cities for league games.

“I’ve never been more proud to serve as coach,” Hurley said, adding co-coach Kevin Kurkiniemi echoes those save sentiments.

“These ladies were full of energy, very cohesive, positive and highly coachable. The talent and participation is overwhelming. We would have more than 25 girls attending practices.”

Hurley said despite the season being over his players are encouraging him to allow them to practice throughout the school year.

“After basketball season is over we are hoping to continue,” he said. “I’m excited about the future and so very proud of these young ladies.”
