The 2008-born Total Ice Titans skated away from Kamloops’ Ice Pirate Challenge with a silver medal.

The team dropped a nail-biter, 6-5, to the New Western Bruins on Sunday in the championship.

A gruelling schedule saw the Titans play three games on Saturday and in the semifinal and final on Sunday, after dropping its first game, again, to the Bruins, who went undefeated in the tournament.

Saturday morning the Titans downed the Vancouver Selects, tied their next game against the Okanagan All Stars, then upended their rivals, the Kamloops Ice Pirates, to finish second overall in the round robin.

In the semifinal the Titans were matched up once more with Kamloops, who finished third in the round robin, for a chance to advance to the final.

There, the Titans pulled together an impressive 8-0 shutout victory.

The Titans will be back at it once again this weekend as they travel to Vancouver for the Pacific Spring Classic.
