The Williams Lake Midget Timberwolves swept the Prince George Midget Cougars in two games straight during the weekend to win the Cariboo Amateur Hockey League title and punch their ticket to the Provincial Hockey Championships.

The Timberwolves recorded scores of 3-2 Friday evening and 6-1 Saturday at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex for the two-game sweep.

Friday, Tyson Conroy, Raeyden Beauchamp and Denzel Jackson lit the lamp for the T-wolves. Jackson recorded the winner in overtime on a slapper from just inside the blueline.

Saturday, Jared Yuill racked up two tallies, while Will Paynton, Conroy, Grady Thomas and Brendan Pigeon added singles.

Conroy — a bantam-aged player — recorded three points on the weekend for Williams Lake.

The Timberwolves will now play at the Provincial Hockey Championships in Port Coquitlam from March 18-23.

To fundraise, the T-wolves will be at Dairy Queen helping work on Monday, March 13 from 4 to 8 p.m.
