Williams Lake Stampeders volunteers and players collected four big bags of teddy bears, mittens and toques during Saturday’s game against the Quesnel Kangaroos when fans were invited to toss their items, to be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Williams Lake and District, onto the ice following the team’s first goal.
The week prior the team collected 10 large boxes of food for its food drive, which went to the Women’s Contact Society.
The Stampeders were defeated 9-6 on the night, just their second loss of the season.
