Lake City Collision managed to stay one game ahead of the Williams Lake and District Credit Union Tuesday night in the Williams Lake Super League of Curling as both rinks won their respective games.

Lake City Collision, with skip Simone Groundwater, third Ryan Bailey, second Laura Ball and lead Robert Gudbranson, took an early 3-0 lead over Tim Hortons, before Tim Hortons’ skip Paige Gudbranson stole one back in the fourth end to claw back to 3-2. Lake City Collision, however, closed out the game nicely and cruised to a 6-2 victory.

In the evening’s other matchup, the Williams Lake and District Credit Union’s skip Ron Bisaro, third Cindy Brady, second Mark Law and lead John Hoyrup took an early 6-1 lead but gave up four in the fifth end against Purdy’s (skip Brian Purdy, third Mike Dextrase, second Mark Berg and lead John Dryden). Bisaro and his rink managed to settle down after the poor end to eventually win 10-5.

Groundwater and her rink’s win leaves them with a nine-win, two-loss record — good for first place in the Super League. Bisaro and his rink sit one game back with eight wins and three losses.

Purdy’s occupies the third-place spot with a four-win, seven-loss record, while Tim Hortons has a win and 10 losses.
