The facial expression of steer wrestler Colton Manuel of 150 Mile House is indicative of the tremendous effort and concentration that is required to make a successful run in the steer wrestling event.

Good timing and co-ordination are critical and the high school cowboy demonstrated he has the necessary skills by winning the event both days at the Williams Lake High School Rodeo this past weekend.

On Sunday (this photo) Manuel was the last steer wrestler to run and he stopped the clock at nine seconds flat to win — saving the best for last. His winning time the previous day was 6.6 seconds and Manuel also competed in the bull riding, marking a 68 score for second place on Sunday.
