Local Special Olympic athletes participated in the zone five-pin bowling playoffs on Saturday, March 18 in Quesnel.

All of the athletes said they had an excellent time, says coach program co-ordinator Craig Hilker.

“We travelled up the morning of the 18th and spent the day in the community of Quesnel,” Hilker says.

All of the athletes bowled three games in the play downs.

Both James Inglis and Ian Stafford bowled above average for the tournament.

In the first game Inglis rolled an impressive 281 which held up through the tournament and won him an award for men’s high single.

Hilker and fellow coach Lynn Parkes thank the athletes for their continued dedication to a long season.

“Also a special thanks to Quesnel for there hospitality,” Hilker says.

“After the bowling they held a banquet with a beautiful meal and awards banquet held at the Quesnel legion.”
