Williams Lake Rustlers rugby players and Castaway Wanderers Doug Fraser, Nathan Stewart and Riley Ilnicki finished up a match against James Bay Athletic Association this past weekend in the premiere division of the Vancouver Island Rugby Football Union.
The three Rustlers players, and also Jake Ilnicki who will rejoin the team when he returns from playing with Team Canada this month, figure prominently for the Wanderers and, at present, are holding down second place in the VIRFU competition for the Barnard Cup and will be looking to wrestle it from James Bay in December.
Stewart helped the University of Victoria Vikings take the cup last year in a head-to-head tilt against the Wanderers and the Ilnicki brothers.
