Riders gearing up for Cops for Cancer Tour de North

The wheels continue to turn as fundraising efforts ramp up for the 2016 Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de North.

The wheels continue to turn as fundraising efforts ramp up for the 2016 Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de North.

Riders in the event, which supports pediatric cancer research and support programs, and sends kids to Camp Goodtimes, will travel 850 kilometres by bicycle from Prince George to Prince Rupert from Sept. 16-22.

The tour stops in communities along the way making school visits and attending community events.

On Sept. 14, the popular Jail and Bail fundraiser takes place in Williams Lake.

From Williams Lake Andrew Waters, Joel Kooger, Toby Klausen and Dave Dickson are participating in the ride.

Cops for Cancer Tour de North is celebrating 15 years where more than $2.6 million has been raised and more than 10,000 kilometres ridden.
