Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling will be in Williams Lake tonight

Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling invades Williams Lake’s Elk’s Hall Thursday for what’s expected to be a raucous event.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with the matches kicking off at 7:30 p.m.

“This is an all ages show and the level of competition just went through the roof,” managing director for SmokeShow Promotions, Bernie Schneider said. “Williams Lake, prepare yourself for round one of the elimination series for the brand new Budweiser Gold Rush Tour Heavyweight Championship belt.

Scotty Mac, one of the wrestling promotion’s most popular stars, said he’s coming to Williams Lake to claim that championship.

“These guys are hungry and they all want the belt but I’m here for one reason and I don’t care what it takes,” Mac said. “I’m taking that brand new championship belt home with me.”

Also on the card is a personal battle between Tony Baroni and Xavier Galaxy.

“I can’t wait to get my hands on Baroni,” Galaxy said. “I’ve been chasing him all over Canada so now he has nowhere to hide.”

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.smokeshowpromotions.com or at the door. All seats are general admission so fans are advised to arrive early for best seating options.

There will also be an on-site concession run by the Williams Lake Wrestling Club.
