Williams Lake’s Conley Pinette is competing this week at the 2016 IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships as a representative of Team Canada’s under-17 team.

Williams Lake’s Conley Pinette is representing Team Canada this week at the 2016 IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships.

Pinette is one of 25 skiers on the Canadian squad in Chapala, Mexico for the event, which began Monday, Nov. 14 and runs until Sunday, Nov. 20.

He will represent Canada in the under-17 division alongside Quebec’s Dominique Grondin Allard and Ontario’s Paige Rini and Neilly Ross.

The team is being led by national team head coach Steve Bush and supported by coaches Jaret Llewellyn and Cole Grant.

Preliminary results show Pinette finishing seventh in slalom on day one, and was scheduled to compete in the trick portion of the event Tuesday.
