Minor hockey players recognized for efforts

After a successful 2014/15 season, the WLMHA busy handing out its house league awards at a series of divisional banquets.

After a successful 2014/15 season, the Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association was busy handing out its house league awards throughout the first week in March at a series of divisional banquets.

Players in the atom, peewee, bantam and midget divisions were recognized in three areas: most improved, most sportsmanlike and most valuable.

Initiation and novice divisions, meanwhile, received team awards for most dedicated, most improved and most sportsmanlike.

The following are this year's winners:

Atom Division

Most Improved: Nicholas Speed

Most Valuable: Dominik Kniec and Max Sanford

Most Sportsmanlike: Jazmin Guichon

Peewee Division

Most Improved: Sam Fait and Deekon Hutchinson

Most Valuable: Dylan Telford

Most Sportsmanlike: Marissa Ramsay

Bantam Division

Most Improved: Arlen Letnes

Most Valuable: Justice Noel

Most Sportsmanlike: Sheldon Callingham

Midget Division

Most Improved: Dax Setah

Most Valuable: Tanner Nickel

Most Sportsmanlike: Adam Stafford

Daryl Ford Memorial Award: Brenna Ertel and Ben Stafford

Russell Gibson memorial Award: Lucas Patterson

Danielle Helmer Memorial Award: Maddie Hordiuk

Volunteer of the Year: Jessica Larson

Coach of the Year: Tim Lussier
