Williams Lake FC defeated United Floors 7-3 to advance to the Williams Lake Men’s Soccer League playoff final this Saturday.

WLFC came flying out of the gates in Wednesday night’s semifinal at the Esler Soccer Complex scoring three goals in the opening 10 minutes on route commanding 5-0 lead at half time. United Floors came on strong in the second half with three goals scored by Mike Brogan in a case of too little too late.

WLFC will await the winner of Thursday nights semifinal game between regular season champions Storm and Celtic Engineering.

Storm are heavy favorites and are undefeated in 12 games with nine victories and three draws.

Storm feature three of the league’s top five scorers with league leader Viktor Stamenov (10 goals) and Brandon Phillips and Darko Ognjanov (seven goals) tied for third. Celtic dispatched last year’s playoff champions Windsor Plywood on Tuesday night in the fifth versus fourth place play-in game.

The men’s final takes place Saturday at 11 a.m. at Esler with a barbecue and season awards to follow at the clubhouse.
