It was an all Williams Lake final during the weekend at a bantam house tournament in Mackenzie.

Williams Lake Red eventually marched away with the gold medal after defeating Williams Lake Green, 6-2, in the tournament final.

Teams all played in a three-game round robin on Saturday, before playoff games on Sunday.

Scoring in the final for Williams Lake Red were Marc Antoine Therrien with a hat trick, Logan Hutchinson with a pair and Ethan Garland with a single tally.

“The team played really well all year and continued their success this past weekend,” said Williams Lake Red manager Lisa Hutchinson. “They jelled as a team — passing, backchecking, forechecking, defending and utilizing all of their players, in addition to great goaltending and were great sports who really got along all year.

“A special thanks from all the players and parents to coach Jason Drodge for guiding the team to gold over the weekend.”

Williams Lake Red opened its tournament with a 6-4 win over the host team, Mackenzie.

They then went on to beat Dawson Creek, however, later fell to Williams Lake Green, 5-4.

Green, meanwhile, also finished with a 2-1 record in the round robin, advancing them to the final Sunday to face Red.

In the bronze-medal match Mackenzie edged Dawson Creek, 3-2, to claim the medal.
