For Williams Lake’s Holly Schellenberg, there’s really nothing to compare to how Kix 4 Chix Fitness can make you feel.

That’s why, after recently moving to Vernon, Schellenberg has partnered with Williams Lake Kix 4 Chix owner and founder Nicole Neuert to open a new location in Vernon.

“I had to leave and move to Vernon and I really missed it and couldn’t find anything like it in the Okangan,” Schellenberg said. “Nothing compared to it and nothing made me feel the same way.”

Schellenberg approached Neuert and the pair began discussing the possibilities of opening a Kix 4 Chix in Vernon.

“I just wanted to open one up here to reward women here with the kind of program she offers in Williams Lake,” Schellenberg said.

“There’s no way to explain how Kix 4 Chix can affect someone. You really have to experience it. It offers to anyone — any size, any shape and any age — motivation and strength and confidence and it’s hard to find a program that offers all of that. I’ve been in the best shape of my life doing kickboxing and people around you start to notice a change in your confidence and to find something like that is really rare.”

Schellenberg began exercising at Kix 4 Chix last year, and soon fell in love with the program.

“I was working as a full time nurse in Williams Lake and I wanted to find a program to workout,” she said. “I walked in by myself, I didn’t know a single soul. That day, I bought a membership and I never stopped going. “The women of Kix 4 Chix really start to become your friends and your family ... and I think women living in Vernon are missing out.”

The grand opening of the new Vernon location is slated for April 2 with two complimentary classes — one at 9:30 a.m. and another at 5:30 p.m. The Vernon Kix 4 Chix Fitness is located downstairs at 3704 32nd St.
