The Williams Lake High School Rodeo rides into the lakecity this weekend with three days of roping, riding and more.

The event, running from Friday, May 6 to Sunday, May 8 at the Williams Lake Stampede Grounds, will feature both junior division and high school division athletes from throughout the province.

Friday’s rodeo will get underway at 1 p.m. with cutting, followed by a 4 p.m. start for the junior division rodeo.

Saturday’s junior division rodeo kicks into action at 8 a.m., with the high school rodeo to follow.

On Sunday, the high school rodeo will be the highlight, beginning at 9 a.m.

Events taking place in the high school rodeo will be tie down roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, cutting, team roping, barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and the BC High School Rodeo Association queen event.

In the junior division there will be tie down roping, chute dogging, boys goats, breakaway roping, junior bull/steer riding, team roping, ribbon roping, barrel racing and pole bending.

From Williams Lake Ryan Roberts (cutting, team roping), Blaine Manuel (bull riding, steer wrestling), Cordell Pinchbeck (bull riding), Wyatt Armes (cutting, tie down roping), Melanie Wintjes (barrel racing, goat tying, pole bending), Brock Everett (chute dogging, goat tying breakaway roping, team roping) and Reese Rivet (barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, goat tying) will be competing.
