Gymnasts win team trophy at Prince George meet

Williams Lake Gymnastics Club members came back with a heft medal and ribbon haul.

Greg Sabatino photo Williams Lake Gymnastics Club members Cali MacKinnon (front from left), Ava Johnson, Camdyn Cochrane, Raquel Tomelin, Alyssia Irawan (back from left), Emily Swan, Marajade Goertz, Shae Lynn Dyck, Kalli Campbell, Kylie Syme, Nya Chutskoff and Isabelle McMath came back with a heft medal and ribbon haul from the Prince George Invitational and the Zone 8 Championships May 13-14. “Quite a few of the girls made personal bests,” saidcoach Raeanna Brown, who co-coaches the team alongside Michaela Newberry. “They all set goals at the beginning and they all met their personal goals.” For their success, the WLGC won the team trophy in the Junior Olympic Program Level 4 division at zones. “From the beginning of the season until now I’ve seen an immense improvement,” Brown said. “We’re very proud of them.”
