Golf club hosts men’s scramble

The Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club hosted its annual Men’s Opening Scramble Sunday, May 5.

The Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club hosted its annual Men’s Opening Scramble Sunday, May 5 at the links to beautiful, sunny skies and fantastic early-season course conditions.

The 18-hole event, following four-man scramble best-ball rules, saw the team of Jay Harvey, Dave Wright, Chad Beaulieu and Ted Golightly fire an average 59.3 to take the championship.

Coming in a close second place were Justin Doucette, Arnie Zimmerman, Mike Zimmerman and Harvey Lammi, posting a 59.6 on the round.

Third place went to the team of Steve Margetts, Terry Rust, Tom Erickson and Grant Martin with a 59.8, while fourth place were Gene Brettell, Tom Merrick, Rick Paquette and Paul Rivet firing a 60.2.

Finally, the most honest team went to Rob Lyons, Jim Payler, Peter Montgomery and David Duffin.
