Gage, Munich take Two Lady Classic

Doris Gage and Caroline Munich were the overall winners at the Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club Two Lady Classic June 25-26.

Under gorgeous, sunny skies the Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club Two Lady Classic lived up to its name.

Seventy-four golfers, including 34 from out of town travelling from Smithers, Prince George, Quesnel, 108 Mile House, Kamloops, Kelowna and Chase, competed.

Williams Lake’s Doris Gage and Caroline Munich fired the combined best two rounds of the tournament, coming in at 173.5 to claim the championship.

In second place, also from Williams Lake, was Crystal Wells and Peggy Pukacz just one stroke back at 174.5.

Kelly Flaherty and Harj Mann made it a clean one, two three sweep for the lakecity as they finished a stroke and a half back of the lead at 175.

Vi Brears and Charmaine Bird of Quesnel were fourth with a 177.5, while Fran Fraser and Vivian Brooks took fifth scoring a 177.5.

On Saturday evening, the WLGTC hosted a pajama-themed dinner and mixer at the Fox’s Den Restaurant.

Following the conclusion of the tournament Sunday, prizes and the championship trophy were awarded to Gage and Munich.
