Members of the No. 77 stock car racing team gathered at CJs Restaurant on Saturday, Oct. 1 for a banquet to honour their late team member Don Fletcher.

Pictured from the left are Don’s wife Lil Fletcher, Murray Driver, Gerald Fluttert, Dan Prins, Barrie Brown, Bryan Desilets and No. 77 race car owner Wayne “Shuster” Johnston.

“Don was very devoted to racing,” Driver said.

“He loved the 77.” He said Don was in charge of keeping the race car clean and he kept it spotless.

“We as a race team will always have a dirty spot for Don to clean up,” Driver said Don worked for BC Hydro and was consistently there for the team from the time he joined in 1997 until he passed away earlier this year.

During the banquet the team also thanked Don’s wife Lil for all of her support over the years.
