A small contingent of girls from the Lake City Secondary School Falcons’ soccer team were in Hope Friday to compete in the city’s first annual indoor soccer tournament.

The Falcons took on teams from Hope, Merritt and 100 Mile House.

The players, who ranged in age from Grade 8 to 12, combined to form two short-sided teams with some players competing in nine games for the weekend.

“It was ultimately a Peter Skene Ogden versus Lake City for the final and the girls, who amalgamated into one team for the final match, were victorious with a 3-0 victory,” Falcons coach Caitlin Sabatino said.
