The Central Interior Karting Series kicked off its season in Quesnel from May 14-15 where several lakecity go-kart drivers hit the pavement for some strong results.

Saturday, normally used as a practice day for the drivers, turned out to be a wash out, with rain drops pelting the track for much of the day.

Sunday, however, sunny skies opened up for the drivers and races went off smoothly.

In the Canada Senior Class, Kyle Lemky placed third overall after taking third place in the first two heats and the main event.

Kyle’s brother, Graham Lemky, placed second overall in the Junior 2 Class, racing to first in the heat and second-place finishes in the second heat and main event.

Meanwhile, Daniel Nilsson scored a third overall finish in the Junior 1 Class, with three third-place finishes.

Rookie Dillon Alberts won a participant medal placing sixth in each of his three races, also in the Junior 1 Class.

Next up for the eight-race series is a stop in Vernon from June 11-12, before drivers head back to Quesnel from June 25-26.
