The Williams Lake Ladies League of Curling swept its final stones of the year March 13 at the Williams Lake Curling Club.
After several weeks of play, finishing atop the standings, was the team of Simone Groundwater (skip), Yvonne Leclerc (third), Laura Ball (second) and Jessica Ball (lead).
In second place was the Darlene Belziuk rink, coming in five points behind the Groundwater rink.
Back in February the ladies also held a 12-team bonspiel at the local curling club.
Three teams travelled from out of town to compete.
There, the winners of the A event were Yvonne Teskey (skip), Hazel Anderson (third), Cecile Benard (second) and Claire Shephard (lead), sponsored by Mobile Arc Welding.
The winners of the B event, sponsored by Tie Point Consulting, were Yvonne Leclerc (skip), Wanda Anderson (third), Pamela Fisch (second) and Patricia Scott (lead).
In the C event, sponsored by Hub International Barton Insurance, Linda Peterson (skip), Mary Gammie (third), Gwen Gage (second) and Helen Bailey (lead) picked up the win.
The ladies’ league said they would like to thank their sponsors and added a special thanks is in order to the volunteer ice makers, who kept the ice at the WLCC in fantastic condition all year.
