Cariboots ‘N’ Blades this weekend

The Williams Lake Figure Skating Club hosts the Cariboots ‘N’ Blades Figure Skating meet at this weekend.

The Williams Lake Figure Skating Club hosts the Cariboots ‘N’ Blades Figure Skating meet at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex this weekend Friday, Feb. 3 through Sunday, Feb. 5.

Figure skating clubs from around the province will be attending.

Cariboots ‘N’ Blades gets underway Friday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, skating begins at 8 a.m. and wraps up at 9 p.m. Then on Sunday, the event goes from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend and cheer on the skaters.

 

Stampeders playoffs round one

 

Saturday, Feb. 4 and Sunday, Feb. 5 the Williams Lake Stampeders square off for game two and, if necessary, game three of its first round Central Interior Hockey League playoff series against the Houston Luckies. The Stampeders are down 1-0 in the series after a 6-3 defeat in Houston last weekend.

Game two goes Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex. Game three, if necessary, goes Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Central B.C. Aboriginal Youth hockey tournament

 

In just over a month, hundreds of youth hockey players from around the province will converge at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex for the Fifth Annual Central B.C. Aboriginal Youth Hockey Tournament.

The tournament, scheduled for March 16-18 will see upwards of 20 teams and close to 400 players from cities and towns across the province compete in initiation, atom, peewee, bantam and midget divisions.
