Cariboo 8-Ball League finishes season

Teams in the league play out of various venues throughout the city from January to April in the league, following a season from September to December featuring six ladies’ and six men’s teams.

The team (Evelyna Bowe/Bernie Elkins, Guy Bowe/Sherri Jack, Zack Jeff/Wendy Alphonse, Evans Billyboy/Brandi Phillips, Skylar Bowe/Mary Harry and spares Derrick Cooper and Orenda Gilbert) edged the second-place Oliver Demons and the third-place OV Stars to win the title.

Playing for the Oliver Demons were Pat Heigh/Jan Keener, Nick Surette/Rhonda Surette, Paul Jenkins/Janice Fairburn, Tracey Merriam/Vivian McKay and Kelsey Kirechuk/Donna LeBlanc.

In third for the OV Stars were Tina Jeff/Al Dutch, Robin Randall/Dennis Sargent, Jamie Haller/Nick Jeff, Larry Jeff/Val Jack, Brittany Johnson/Boone Sargent and spare Joan Jeff.

Playing in the Cariboo 8-Ball League singles season are ladies teams Legion Angels, Legion Dames, OV Stars, OV Babes, D&D Chilli Peppers and the Oliver She-Devils.

Men’s teams are Legion Lords, Legion Knights, OV Boomers, OV Sharks, D&D Bus Drivers and Oliver Demons.

Today (Friday) at noon the Cariboo 8-Ball League will be hosting its award ceremony and year-end nominations at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 139.

The league’s current executive consists of Pat Heigh (president), Guy Bowe (first vice-president), Edna Boston (stats/secretary) and Shar MacMurchy (treasurer).
