The Williams Lake Bullets Speed Skating Association brought home the coveted Coyote Cup for the second time this past weekend at a meet in Kamloops.

The Coyote Cup/Western T2T Speedtacular Speed Skating Meet, held from Jan. 28-29, saw 12 WLBSSA skaters compete.

Ten of the Bullets’ skaters took to the ice on day one of the Coyote Cup, while two more skaters competed on day two in the Western T2T Speedtacular.

All of the club’s skaters came home with new personal best times, many with personal bests in multiple races.

Results were as follows:

Coyote Cup Medalists.

Gold: Drew Woodford, Nayeli Doerner, Henry Beaton-Fleming and Brayden Folland.

Silver: Colby Bennison, Madelyn Feist and Isaac Plant.

Bronze: Sarah Plant and Brooke Bennison.

Iron (fourth): Ella Carson.

Ty Lauren and Leah Lauren participated in the Speedtacular and both came home with new personal bests. Leah posted qualifying times for the provincial championships coming up March 4-5 in Abbotsford at the BC Short Track Championships.

She will be joined at the BCSTC by Ty and Bennison.

The Bullets, meanwhile, will be hosting its inaugural speed skating meet in Williams Lake — the 2017 Central Short Track FUNale on Saturday, Feb. 25.

The club is inviting the community to come cheer on the skaters.

Teams will be visiting from Fort St. James, Prince George, Vanderhoof and Kamloops.

Racing starts at 9:15 a.m.
