The Bull Mountain Racers cross-country ski team were blazing up the trails Saturday at Stake Lake in Kamloops for the Okanagan Teck Cup.

Grace Turner, Anika Wallin, Cooper Seabourne, Livia Seabourne and Nadia Wallin each participated in a sprint qualifier and carried on to either race two or three elimination heats on the day.

The small but mighty team were at the top of their games, coaches said, for some amazing photo finishes.

Nadia skied to a silver medal in the peewee girls division for racers aged eight and nine years old, Anika brought home gold for bantam girls in the 10- and 11-year-old division and Grace won a silver medal in the midget girls division for racers aged 12 and 13.

Grace said she was especially happy to be competing at Sunday’s race after recently qualifying for the BC Winter Games in cross-country skiing. The Games will be held in Kamloops late February, so the races provided her a chance to practice at the venue and courses ahead of the event.

The Bull Mountain Racers, meanwhile, will be back in action again this weekend in Prince George for the Provincial BC Cup.
