Bob Thurow took second in the men’s open division.

His son, Ty Thurow, meanwhile, fired to a first-place result in the cub division, while his sister, Joelle Thurow, was first in the precub category.

Fred Streleoff nailed first in the men’s recurve division, while Ernie Schmid followed closely behind in second.

Al Campsall placed first in the masters open category.

Additionally, Gavin Laukkanen, who was only able to shoot one day, competed and would have likely challenged for a top spot if he had shot both days.

Overlander Pub Slo-Pitch Fundraising Tournament coming up June 17-19

The Williams Lake Slo-Pitch League is hosting its annual Overlander Pub Slo-Pitch Fundrasing Tournament June 17-19 at the Esler Sports Complex.

Sixteen teams will be competing — 10 local and six from out of town. The tournament will be used as a fundraiser for new bleachers for the Esler Sports Complex.

Linda Barbondy, president of the WLSPL, is inviting the public to attend. The concession will be open and the final is slated for Sunday afternoon.
