Anderson, Taylor take Two Lady Classic

The Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club’s Barton Insurance Two Lady Classic went down to the wire over the weekend, with the top two teams finishing within an inch of one another.

The Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club’s Barton Insurance Two Lady Classic went down to the wire over the weekend, with the top two teams finishing within an inch of one another.

Taking first place was Williams Lake’s Marlene Anderson and Lorraine Taylor. Anderson and Taylor fired a combined 160 for the win.

In second were Williams Lake’s Geri Mitchell and Joyce Johnson, who shot a combined 160.2.

A total of 52 golfers took to the links for the tournament, which featured a combined scoring method of scramble, best ball and best score.

Each team played two rounds — one on Saturday and another on Sunday to determine the winner.

Golfers arrived in Williams Lake from 100 Mile House, Quesnel, Kamloops and Kelowna to join the lakecity contingent in the tournament.

Coming up at the Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club is the Men’s and Ladies’ Club Championship on July 23, an annual event open to club members.
