Star gazers were given a rare treat Sunday as a lunar eclipse coincided with a supermoon. If you missed it

This image of Sunday's super moon eclipse was captured on a Sony Alpha a77 camera.

Each stage of the moon was separately exposed, edited and then combined and merged with an exposure of the entire scenery to create this stunning image that showcases the full cycle of the lunar eclipse.

The first image was captured at around 7:15 p.m. and the last at around 10 p.m. on Sept. 27.

The entire eclipse was photographed from Big Lake in Nemiah Valley.
