Sawan Singh soaks up the sun on a south-facing memorial bench overlooking Williams Lake Sunday afternoon.
Sawan is a priest at the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple on Mackenzie Avenue and has lived in Williams Lake for six years and six months.
Originally from Chandigarh, the capital city of Punjab, India, Sawan said he moved here to work in 2008, with his wife and two sons following in 2012.
Sawan said he loves the area and the friendly people, and expects to be here another year-and-a-half.
