The Williams Lake Blue Fins Swim Club and Canadian Tire worked together In December selling Christmas trees at the Canadian Tire location in Williams Lake for one of their fundraisers, but also to support the Jumpstart program that financially helps kids afford sport.

“Canadian Tire owner Jim Anderson and the Blue Fins thought that it was a great relationship where our kids could give back and help other kids play sports that possibly couldn’t afford it,” Blue Fins head coach Chad Webb (left) said.

“Canadian Tire was a big supporter of our tree-selling event this year, and even donated a large screen TV for a give away to anyone purchasing a tree that day.

The tree-selling fundraiser is a big part of the community and many people ask when we are going to set up each year. It is a significant amount of volunteer work from our club each year with not a huge return, but it seems many in the community really like getting these great local trees.”
