You can still be a proud Canadian

Canada talked … proud to be a party/signatory to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Canada abandoned the goal of the UNFCCC. Canada never walked the talk. Proud?

Christiana Fegueres, executive secretary of the UNFCCC, says Canada still has a legal and moral obligation to Canada herself … and for future generations … to slash emissions. Do Canadians dispute this? Our leaders dispute slashing emissions. Opposition parties have voiced their objections … like the crying voice of Elizabeth May who gets a say in our democracy. Tyranny of mega-fossil fuel industries and minions of fossil fuel dominion/domination withdraws Canada “legally” from Kyoto Protocols … betrayal indeed by Stephen Harper/Peter Kent, Joe Oliver, Alison Redford, Christy Clark, Terry Lake, et.al. Minions … Harper, et.al. want expanded mega fossil fuel industries developed for trillions of market dollars … PDQ! Emissions … democracy … morality … sustainability are trumped! “Good” for Canadians?

Minions … Harper, et.al. want XL pipeline delivering 590,000 barrels a day of dirty Alberta bitumen to U.S. markets … Oliver wants Enbridge delivering 500,000 barrels a day of bitumen for China/Asian markets. Kinder Morgan wants 400,000 to 500,000 barrels a day … seeking 15- to 20-year contracts. Clark will build three LNG plants in Kitimat shipping millions of tonnes of super-cooled natural gas over 20 years to Asian markets.

Adding Canadian coal … please calculate or imagine … the total amount of Canadian CO2 added to the atmosphere … in a day … in a year … for 20 years! Unabated … clearly … it is Canada’s dirty fossil fuel emissions in exchange for trillions of dirty blood dollars. Unabated … the consequence of Canada’s emissions … will be unsustainable human life. Canada’s increasing emissions decreases our breathing space. In three years …  2015 … we will all reach 400 ppm of CO2 in our atmosphere together. The time is now … to reduce/slash Canada’s emissions!

You can still be proud to be a Canadian … her proudest generation … ever!
