Smart 55: Seniors Centre reopens after Christmas break

I love the new year.

It is like opening the front page of a new book and anticipating the story line.

The year 2016 started off OK and then towards the end of the year we were bombarded with disasters, both natural and terrorist induced.

The Seniors Activity Centre was closed for the Christmas holidays from Dec. 22 to Jan 2 and reopened on Tuesday, Jan. 3 with all activities resuming as usual.

This was to give the volunteers a much needed break.

The OAPO meeting will be on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 1 p.m. and all members are invited to attend.

The Seniors Centre is having a Cheesecake and Youth Fashion Show for all ages on Jan. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. The fee is $10 per person. It should be a fun event. Space will be limited, so get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

For all those who have overeaten and have put on weight, consider joining Weight Watchers or doing some exercises.

Happy New Year to all of you.
