Reinstating the PST is taking too long

Taking 18 months to return the provincial sales tax is nefarious.

Our economy is hurting now and people are postponing consumption, waiting for some relief yet our so-called elected officials are attempting to drag out a direct order from the people, their bosses.

If this was a normal business and the employees and their subcontractors tried a stunt like this they would be fired on the spot.

Dismantling the HST should be accomplished in fewer than 60 days well before Christmas shopping season, in order to provide immediate relief for retail markets and reduce costs on goods and services by providing some tax relief over winter and a bit of a kick start to next year.

There is no doubt the Liberal government has run up our debt significantly while in power and is attempting to collect as much money as possible in order to show reductions before election time in hopes of getting re-elected on some spun out fiscal twist. Governments should be in the business of zero debt and reverse taxation so it puts more money in our economy at the private level where it does most good.
