Your article on our road report was generally accurate with the exception of two items where I quite possibly gave wrong information.

First, the 4500 Road is not used to access the Nemiah Valley.

Two, the Chilcotin bridge at Hanceville, which I have since been able to measure, is 100 meters long, not 200 feet. New information from professional bridge engineer, Mike Herold, indicates replacement cost would be between $700 and $900 thousand.

We believe that the MacKinon Report, and the five or six other professional reports we at FONV will be presenting to the CEAA Panel on New Prosperity Mine, provide the essential information that the public requires in order to make an informed decision as to the merits of this project.

We are appalled that Williams Lake mayor and council would come out in favour of the proposal in advance of having such information, the kind of information they lack the expertise to obtain on their own.

Good governance must always be based on the best available knowledge considered against a set of inclusive values that takes account of the wishes of those most affected by a particular project.
