Your photo of priest Jarnail Singh on his bike (in the Friday, Feb. 17 Williams Lake Tribune/Weekend Advisor), makes me smile. Love it!
There is another gentleman that rides his bike but his is much more old style. Jarnail has winter tires.
My two sons were delivered in Williams Lake by Dr. Willings.
Dr. Willings was stationed in India in his youth.
Bike riding was “thee” thing to do on Sundays.
Dr. Willings biked out to the home of a maharaja where Ghandi was fasting.
He did not go in as he didn’t want to bother anyone!
However he said to me: “I think you would have Mrs. Biffert.”
So when I see Indo Canadians on bikes I have this return to my younger years and the wonderful relationship that I had with Dr. Willings, all very formal as it was.
