Well, it has certainly been an exciting week in B.C. politics. With the suspension of the BC United campaign and leader Kevin Falcon encouraging supporters to unite behind John Rustad and the Conservative Party of British Columbia, the viewing public has certainly been entertained.

Before we go further, I would like to commend BC United leader Kevin Falcon for putting the province above politics. I am sure this was not an easy decision, but he has shown true leadership.

This election is more important than ever. In British Columbia we face serious challenges with the rising cost of living, the opioid crisis and our crumbling healthcare system. Now is the time for us to unite for the betterment of our province.

In our riding, this election will bring some changes. The first is one that residents of Cariboo – Chilcotin and residents of Fraser Nicola and Kamloops riding will soon come to understand. Our riding will grow to include communities like Clinton, Cache Creek, Ashcroft, Tobiano and Savona and all points in between.

And then there is the change in party status with the suspension of the BC United campaign. I moved months ago to the Conservatives so a little complexity here in Cariboo – Chilcotin, however certainly much confusion with respect to the entire province.

What I can say is that we are now more united than ever to defeat David Eby and the radical NDP ideology that has been harming our province.

I have never been more proud  n any role as I have been representing Cariboo – Chilcotin as an MLA. I am looking forward to working with everyone to bring common sense back to our province and putting us on the right track.
