Re: MiningWatch Canada lawsuit

I was distressed to see that MiningWatch Canada and other groups have filed a private prosecution against Mount Polley and the BC Provincial Government for the discharge that may have damaged the fisheries.

The dam breach should not have happened, but it did.

It has been proven that it was not a criminal act by mine staff or the provincial mining people.

It was a situation that happened by a series of events that were not connected.

For this to be a criminal act, it must be proven that it was carried out by negligence of duties or advanced knowledge that the dam was going to fail.

After the dam breach, the mine staff didn’t cut and run.

They have stayed and spent over $70 million on remediation and it is still going on.

For my money, MiningWatch Canada are doing this for publicity and fundraising.

We have real criminal activity that has to be dealt with in the courts and it doesn’t include dealing with issues that have been or are still being investigated by various legal agencies.
