Letters: Increased budget distressing

It is disappointing to see that, once again, our local governments have made financial decisions based on inaccurate information.

It is disappointing to see that, once again, our local governments have made financial decisions based on inaccurate information.

Another that immediately comes to mind is our tourist centre that was also significantly short of funds to complete after the project was started.

My read of the economy is that it hasn’t gone anywhere in the past four years so I think the providers of the initial concept plan for the pool expansion should be taken to task and told to absorb the difference or, at least share in the funding of it.

What is more distressing is the quote in the article attributed to the CRD and the city that: “… the increase will not cost the taxpayers any more …” Where on earth do they think all this money comes from?

The only non-government funding is the $500,000 generously donated by West Fraser.

No matter what level of government it is, there is always one of them putting their hands in our pockets for more.
