It was a real pleasure to meet (Williams Lake Indian Band Coun.) Willie Sellars in Ottawa last week.
He is a credit to his family and to the community.
I totally agreed when he said that young people need “sports not courts.”
Having served on the Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal People for the past seven years, I know there are many challenges facing First Nations communities and Indigenous peoples in Canada.
The young people who spoke to us in the Senate committee last week give us great hope for the future.
I congratulate Willie and thank him for his message to us.
