It has been brought to our attention that the safety of those working within the South Chilcotin area may be compromised by the acts of unknown individuals.
While the Tsilhqot’in National Government (TNG) has been known to protect their lands from being negatively impacted by large-scale development, bringing physical harm to individuals has never been part of our fight.
The actions of those within the South Chilcotin should be considered a criminal act and investigated by the RCMP.
The TNG does not endorse any of these actions.
As an elected leader of the Tsilhqot’in Nation and spokesperson for the TNG, I encourage whoever may be taking part in such reckless behavior to consider the consequences of their actions.
