Letter: Government milking cash cow with new distracted driving fines

The government released the amount of money collected in fines for distracted driving — millions in a year and still no change in numbers.

The government released the amount of money collected in fines for distracted driving — millions in a year and still no change in numbers.

The answer is the same for impaired driving.

First, a 24-hour suspension. Second time, a month with your car or truck impounded and, for the third time, a year for your car in a compound.

The government, with its new fines, is milking a cash cow.

They have no reason to want an end to this problem.

Impaired is impaired no mater if it’s drugs, booze or a cell phone.
