I am a taxpaying resident on North Lakeside, Borland Road, near Scout Island since 1970 and have followed the power struggle of development and control of the facility and surrounding area.

I have a suggestion that seems like a realistic, simple, practical solution to the boat launch controversy.

One cannot keep all the people happy all the time, so no doubt some will have ruffled feathers to my idea.

Rather than create more problems with the development of another boat launch facility, it seems better to use what is already in place and just modify the parking area to accommodate the boaters.

The causeway access — which should never have been built in my opinion — is the ideal place to park the trailers that are used to launch boats.

The concrete barriers put on the access road to restrict traffic may “pretty up” the area with shrubs and flowers, but there should be a limit for practicality of usable space for other reasons.

I am available should anyone wish to discuss this in further detail.
